【My(Spring及Festival及我的春节日记)】Every year, the arrival of the Spring Festival brings a wave of joy and excitement to my family. It is not just a holiday, but a time for reunions, traditions, and unforgettable memories. This year was no different, and I decided to keep a diary to record my experiences.
The days leading up to the festival were filled with preparation. My mother and I spent hours cleaning the house, hanging red couplets on the doors, and decorating the living room with paper cuttings and lanterns. The color red symbolizes happiness and good luck, and it made our home feel warm and welcoming.
On the eve of the Lunar New Year, the whole family gathered for the traditional reunion dinner. We cooked a variety of dishes, including dumplings, fish, and rice cakes. Each dish had its own meaning—dumplings represent wealth, fish means abundance, and rice cakes symbolize progress in life. As we sat around the table, we shared stories, laughed, and wished each other a happy new year.
After dinner, we watched the CCTV Spring Festival Gala together. It was a tradition that brought us closer. Even though some parts of the show were not very interesting, the atmosphere was lively and full of energy.
On the first day of the new year, I woke up early and put on new clothes. My grandfather gave me a red envelope with money inside, which was a sign of good fortune. Then, I went out with my parents to visit relatives and friends. We exchanged greetings, ate snacks, and played games. It was a day full of laughter and happiness.
Throughout the festival, I felt a deep sense of connection to my culture and family. The Spring Festival is more than just a holiday—it is a celebration of life, love, and tradition. I am grateful for the moments I shared with my family and the memories I will always cherish.
As I write this diary, I look forward to next year’s Spring Festival, hoping it will be just as meaningful and joyful.
